Lately we have received quite a few reports that some anti-virus Apps identified this App as or has a virus.
We thought it would be a good idea to clarify it and show you how anti-virus Apps work, and you will also understand why Google itself does not have an anti-virus App.
If you are not careful about what app you download or what link you click, you might get infected by mal-ware or malicious Apps, they could steal your personal information.
But, can those so called anti-virus App detect those malicious Apps, not exactly, there is simply no way in Android system to detect an App that uses legit API and permissions but doing something maliciously. Anti-virus Apps usually just point out some Apps that it think might be doing something suspicious and ask you to figure out the rest by yourself, the result is that they often mis-identify a lot of good Apps as "bad" Apps, because the developer knows as an user you can't really know for sure and you probably don't really care, you'll just switch to another App.
So what can you do? Although we have added security measurement to check any modification to the app, the best "anti-virus" tool is yourself, download Apps only from trusted sources , and developed by trusted developers, don't download hacked Apps or Apps from strange sites .
Now you know why Google as the original system developer doesn't provide any anti-virus App itself.
